Horseback Riding Experience: Weekly Activities and Programs
Equestrian tourism at Tenuta Maria Teresa is developed through a structured program that allows participants to fully experience the relationship with their horses. During their stay, each participant participates in the daily care of their assigned animal, learning the basics of care and equipment.
Activities include practical lessons in the field, followed by field trips after a skills assessment, as well as theoretical sessions dedicated to the history and technique of horsemanship. The weekly program includes daily exercises and specific in-depth lessons, offering a comprehensive and progressive program.
This organization allows you to acquire practical skills and knowledge, while enjoying an authentic experience immersed in the natural landscape of the Lucca hills.
Basic week
As for the horse riding experience, the basic week includes:
- Membership fee
- Daily management of the assigned horse
- Daily practical lesson in the field and subsequent evaluation of the rider(s)' skills out in the countryside
- Theoretical/historical lesson twice a week
Cost (equestrian part per person): €200 including membership fee with basic insurance (or, upon request, insurance with greater coverage to be agreed upon).

Activities and extras
Extra activities not included, to be agreed upon:
- Two-day or longer horseback rides to the seaside (outside the beach season) or in the mountains
- Farriery clinic, horse biomechanics, dressage, cross-country, etc.
- In-depth study of beekeeping
- Visit to the Tenuta Maria Teresa winery and wine tasting
NB: To ride, a valid medical certificate for recreational and sporting activities, or a valid certificate for competitive sport (including other sports), is required.
